The adhesive layer is crucial for the tape's fastening function and is usually applied to one or both sides of the foam substrate. Common adhesives include acrylic and rubber-based types, with the specific adhesive influencing the product's bond strength, temperature resistance, and aging resistance. High-performance foam tapes often utilize high-tack acrylic adhesives to ensure stable, long-term bonding across various surfaces, including metal, glass, and plastic.

Some foam tapes incorporate surface treatment layers or reinforcement layers to improve tensile strength, tear resistance, and environmental durability. For instance, specially treated foam substrates offer enhanced dimensional stability, minimizing deformation during long-term use, while composite reinforcement structures meet the high-reliability bonding requirements of sectors such as automotive manufacturing and electronics.

The release liner serves to protect the adhesive layer, preventing contamination or unwanted adhesion during storage, transport, and handling prior to use. Common release liners include release paper and release film; the protective layer is simply peeled off when the tape is ready to be applied. Through the effective integration of these structural layers, foam tape delivers multiple functions-including bonding, cushioning, sealing, and protection-and is widely used in industrial manufacturing, electronics, automotive applications, and architectural decoration.
